About Svette
A seaside contrast-therapy community
Svette is a seaside sauna and cold-plunge community at Owen Beach. We host social contrast therapy sessions that help people feel better, move better, and connect with each other. Our hosts are a big part of this experience.
The role
The friendly face of every session
We're hiring a Sauna Host who is confident talking with guests about health & wellness, can keep an outdoor operation running smoothly, pays great attention to detail when it comes to cleaning, and loves building community. You'll be the friendly face welcoming guests, running safe and tidy sessions, and keeping the vibes high — especially during chilly sunrise starts and cozy late-night wind-downs.
Daily duties
What your shift looks like
Guest experience & education
- Welcome guests, check waivers/credits, and orient first-timers to the sauna/cold-plunge flow.
- Speak confidently about wellness basics (breathwork, heat/cold benefits, safety cues, hydration, simple contraindications) in plain language.
- Set the session tone: time rounds, run gentle countdowns, keep lighting and ambiance on point.
Operations & safety
- Open/close setup using checklists; stage benches, mats, towels, and rinse stations.
- Preheat the propane sauna heater; track temps; adjust air/heat for safe, enjoyable sessions.
- Monitor beach conditions; enforce safety rules and capacity limits.
- Keep the facility and gear clean (wipe-downs, mop, swap linens, empty trash/recycling).
- Record simple incident notes if needed; escalate issues promptly.
Admin & transactions
- Check guests in through our booking app, Glofox; sell credits and packages; handle cashless sales.
- Answer basic questions about memberships, punch cards, and private events.
Community & brand
- Be a warm, professional ambassador for Svette, online and offline.
- Encourage returning guests, collect feedback, and share wins and ideas with the team.
What you bring
The qualities we look for
- Background in health & wellness (fitness, yoga, outdoor rec, recovery, coaching, spa, PT aid) — and you can explain concepts clearly and confidently to everyday people.
- Interpersonal pro: upbeat, grounded, and great with all personalities. You're friendly & kind and want to be part of the Svette community.
- Reliable for early mornings and late evenings.
- Able to lift/move 50 lbs, work outdoors in cold, wet coastal weather, and be on your feet most of the shift.
- Comfortable with checklists, basic mobile apps, and simple troubleshooting (timers, switches, cleaners).
- Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid — or willing to obtain within 30 days.
Nice to have
- Experience with sauna/cold-plunge operations, outdoor guiding, hospitality, or events
- Clean driving record
- Basic facility or propane familiarity
